Computer Centre

            Since its inception the Computer Centre is actively involved in data entry , data processing of data collected through various surveys and has played a vital role in capacity building of officers and staff  in computer application, data analysis, designing of data entry packages, processing of data.

        The major responsibility  of the Centre  relates to data entry and processing of surveys like NSS, EARAS, Agricultural Census, Minor Irrigation Census, Annual Survey of Industries, Price including documentation  of the results for wide dissemination. The Centre is equipped with hard wares such as 25 nos of PC (P-IV), two Line Dot Matrix Printer, seven Laser Printer ( 6 nos. of A4, and one A3), one Colour Laser Printer, One Office Jet Printer, One Multi function Printer, two nos of Scanners. Further it is supported with the Operating System (i) Windows 7 Professional (ii) Windows XP Professional, (iii) Windows Vista and (iv) SCO-Unix. It is also having processing packages such as Office 2000, 2003, 2007, 2013,  Page Maker-7.0, EPI info and Adobe Photoshop 7.0 & 8.0. The Centre is also working on analysis package like STATA, SYSTAT, SPSS. We used CSpro  package for data entry & validation.

         We have trained manpower in various packages and also soft ware development. Besides above the centre has also preserved a large volume of data generated through various surveys. Different training one Electronic Data Processing courses are being organized for the staff of DES time to time to equip them with latest technologies/ packages. The centre has also taken steps for designing of website for DES under guidance of NIC Odisha  and has prepared a road map  for developing data base of DES for easy access to information system.
